Sunset at 10:30 PM

Last Quarter moon rises around 1:00 AM.

Astronomy For Youth, Inc. is an amateur astronomy club based at Malabar Farm in Lucas, Ohio.  We meet to observe at the Malabar Farm Horseman's Area.  See our Location page for details.

Public Night is the Third Saturday of every month, March through November.  If the weather is not cooperating, the following (fourth) Saturday is our official Rain Date.

Have a telescope or binoculars of your own?  Bring them along!  There is plenty of space for everyone.  The Horseman's Area is a large parking lot atop one of the highest hills (1360ft) in Pleasant Valley.  In the middle of an old forest, this location is very dark.

Please be aware that we meet at Malabar Farm Horsemans Area because it is so dark.  Flash photography and white flashlights will prevent you and everyone around you from seeing anything through the telescopes.  See our page on Night Vision for a better idea of how humans see at night.
